When we talk about Viable’s AI, we’re really talking about a “team” of different AI models that work in tandem to go beyond simple summarization and generate true analysis that exemplifies creative, reliable, and deeply perceptive reasoning at a human level.
And while our artificial intelligence automates the process of analyzing feedback for you, it still has to go through similar steps to what you or our team would do when processing your qualitative data. Thus, many different functions – personalities, if you will – are needed to get the job done.
Curious about who makes up our super smart team? Let us introduce you.
The Collector
After your data is ingested, the first AI teammate up to bat is The Collector. If you’ve ever witnessed someone using a metal detector on the beach, you know the type: meticulous and obsessive, with a dash of eccentricity. C reads every piece of data, leaving no stone (err-grain of sand?) unturned, ensuring that all feedback is accounted for.
Sanitation Engineer
Once The Collector has gone through every piece of qualitative feedback with a fine tooth comb, the Sanitation Engineer comes along. As his name would imply, the Sanitation Engineer loves cleaning – almost to the point of OCD. Everything has to be done just right for him to be able to move on with his day. Fittingly, he goes through the data to remove all clutter, be it noise, bias, anomalies, or anything else muddying the feedback. He only hands the data off once it’s crystal clean.
The Archivist
After the data looks spotless, The Archivist dives in. Similar to the Sanitation Engineer’s obsession with cleanliness, The Archivist is consumed by a need for order. If she could choose, she would sort, classify, and label all day long – picture Monica from Friends. So when The Archivist dives into your data, you better believe it’s going to be organized perfectly. A math gal at heart, she makes sure your data is sorted and clustered just right.

The Analyst
Next up, the Analyst. Once The Archivist clusters and organizes your data, The Analyst jumps in to scrutinize your data, determine what is relevant (or what is not), and quantify the qualitative. If you ever got to meet The Analyst at a party, you’d walk away from your conversation thinking, “She is the smartest person I’ve ever met.” The consummate student, she is always learning, always sweating the details, always understanding the latest trends. It’s intimidating, to say the least. And that’s why she’s the one you want analyzing your data. She is able to uncover deep insights from even the largest sets of data and cites countless sources of direct feedback to support her findings.
The Author
The Analyst then passes the baton to The Author. It’s his job to convey The Analyst’s ideas in a way that’s understandable for readers. His personality matches that of a reporter for the Wall Street Journal – he’s objective, to-the-point, but still personable. This shines through in his writing: he gets to the most pressing issues first, and summarizes them in an easy-to-digest format including a TL;DR summary for those looking to get the most important highlights quickly. The Author leverages GPT-3 to craft natural-language reports that rival any human writer.
The Editor in Chief
A writer is only as good as his editor, and it’s no different for our AI team. The Editor in Chief takes over from the Author, making sure that the team’s work is accurate. It does that by comparing the data the Collector pulled together against the final analysis from The Author, ensuring nothing was misinterpreted in the process. This no-nonsense, cutthroat personality finds fulfillment in one thing: getting the job done right and delivering the best possible final product. He is relentless in his pursuit of accuracy, and only calls it a day when the deliverable is 100% correct.
The Publisher
Finally, The Publisher steps in. It’s her job to publish the weekly report and make sure it’s shared with the right people at the right time. Think of her as the ultimate gatekeeper: she controls access and who can see what. She currently shares the information from your reports with everyone in your workspace, but with time, and like any power-hungry guard, The Publisher will segment users and become more selective about sharing only the most relevant content with each user.
So you see, our AI is made up of many personalities who come together to deliver the best possible product for you. We hope this peek behind the curtain has given you a better sense of the state-of-the-art models behind Viable’s analysis.
