Creating a Zap that connects Google Forms to Viable
You can instantly analyze open ended survey responses collected via Google Forms by sending them to Viable for analysis using Zapier.
In Zapier, click Make a Zap and follow the steps below.
Setting up the Trigger
- Choose Google Forms as the trigger >> app event
- Then choose New Response in Spreadsheet (or New or Updated Response in Spreadsheet if you'd like to analyze updated responses too) as the trigger event
- Click Continue and then sign into your Google Forms account
- Under Set up trigger, select the spreadsheet, worksheet, and trigger column you'd like to analyze. Click Continue.
- Test your trigger
Setting up the Action
- Select Viable as the Action app
Setting up the ActionSelect Viable as the Action app
- Then select Ingest Datapoint as the Action Event
Continue to sign into Viable. You’ll need your Viable API key (in Viable it’s in Admin >> Integrations tab).
Under Set up action choose the fields you want to analyze. We recommend you set up a separate Zap for each free text question/response you want to analyze for a survey. (We do not recommend setting up a Zap for multiple choice or single choice questions.)
Sending all questions via a single Zap will likely result in more generic answer results in Viable.
- For Text, Fchoose the open ended question you’d like to analyze. First type in the question, and then choose the field. That way, the question shows up in Viable alongside the analyzed answer, so you have the context. In the example below, You’d type in What made you choose our product today? And then Choose the What made you choose our product today? field option
- For Created at, choose Timestamp
- For End user email, choose the email address field or other user identifier (in this example, it’s Work email). If there’s none, enter Anonymous.
- Click Continue
- Test the action
You should be ready to turn on the Zap.
